A number of woodland sunflowers eg H. divaricata, H. stromous can become expansive. While native in the US Midwest these clones can be detrimental on small sites. A work group is testing various techniques to retard the number and size of these clones. The team is looking for members who either have experience with woodland sunflower stressing or are willing to test various techniques on their properties where clonal sunflowers are established. In particular the team is looking for 5 sites in southern Wisconsin, northwest Illinois, southwest Michigan, eastern Iowa, and eastern Minnesota.
